Paramount Network
Paramount Network is a US cable television station owned by MTV Networks / Viacom . According to statements made in 2008, it can be received in 96.1 million households.
The station was created in June 2003 as Spike TV as a result of a rebranding of The New TNN , which was founded as The Nashville Network in 1983. In addition to its own programs, Spike shows repeats of programs from the production of other stations. Many of the in-house productions are reality TV programs. In addition, Spike Wrestling , formerly World Wrestling Entertainment , now shows Total Nonstop Action Wrestling . Events of the Ultimate Fighting Championship will also be broadcast live.
Shows that were not re-broadcast on Spike include or included WWE Raw , TNA Impact Wrestling , Blue Mountain State , Deadliest Warrior , Pros vs. Joes , Scream Awards , Bellator MMA , Unsolved Mysteries , Blade - The Hunt Goes On , Afro Samurai , Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon" .
From 2003 to 2013, the station hosted the Spike Video Game Awards , an award ceremony for computer games.
A British offshoot started on April 15, 2015, followed by a Dutch and Belgian offshoot on October 1, 2015. The offshoots in the Netherlands and Belgium broadcast on the same frequency with Nickelodeon from 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. The program window of the American television station TeenNick previously shown there was discontinued without replacement on this train.
At the beginning of 2018, Spike became Paramount Network . The cable broadcaster's most successful series after the re-branding is Yellowstone .
In Europe there are currently some Spike brand transmitters, e.g. B. 5Spike (UK & Ireland), Spike (Italy), Spike Nederland (Netherlands) and RTL Spike (Hungary). It can be assumed that these stations will also be reflagged on The Paramount Network .
