The Stock Mountain is 344.8  m above sea level. NHN high elevation of the Waldecker Forest near Wolfhagen in the northern Hessian district of Kassel .

The Stöckberg is part of the eastern roof of the Waldecker Forest. It rises in the Habichtswald Nature Park, about 2.2 km west-southwest of the main town of Wolf Hagen , one of the city collecting altogether, and about 2.1 kilometers east of the neighboring Waldeck-Frankenberg nearby Bad Arolsen hamlet Bühle .

The elevation is forested in the west and is used for agriculture in the east. Passing to the west , the Siegenbach , a tributary of the Dusebach , flows roughly in a south-north direction . To the east, the landscape drops into the valley of the Erpe tributary Mühlenwasser and thus towards Wolfhagen.

Natural allocation

The Stöckberg lies in the natural spatial main unit group West Hessisches Bergland (No. 34) on the border of the main units Waldecker Wald (340 2 ) in the west and Ostwaldecker Randsenken (341) in the east and on the borders of their natural areas Langer Wald (340 2 .5) in western directions, Ehringer Senke (341.30) in the northeast and Ippinghäusergrund (with Rauenstein) (341.40) in the south-southeast.

Facilities

On the gently rising slopes of the mountain canes, there is a transmission tower of Vodafone and a water container and a little north of it a water works , to which two west and north-west of the crest in a valley of victory Bach located pumping stations are affiliated.

Possibility of viewing

From the Stöckberg the view falls in a north-north-east direction to the Elsbergrücken , east-north-east to Wolfhagen with the Ofenberg behind it and to the south-east adjoining Isthaberg , in north-east to south-east direction to the elongated back hawk forest peaks , including the Großer Bärenberg , and to the south-east to the Langenberge .

Transport links and hiking

On the southwestern outskirts of Wolfshagener core city branches off from the after Leckringhausen leading county road  a 106 track the sticks pinnacle lying for about 500 m south-southwest Wanderparkplatz Bright Place from where a hut stands. Many forest and field paths criss-cross the landscape, through which the extra tour H7 of the Habichtswaldsteig hiking trail, which touches the parking lot, and the Märchenlandweg and student trail hiking trails a little south of the parking lot lead.
