St. Valentine's Day Massacre is a joint EP by the bands Motörhead and Girlschool , which was released on February 1, 1981 under the joint band name Headgirl. The EP consists of three tracks recorded in December 1980 at Jacksons Studios in Rickmansworth , London , England. background

The collaboration between the two British bands Motörhead and Girlschool began in March 1979 when Motörhead began their first major tour with the album Overkill and Girlschool went on tour as a support act. Lemmy had heard the single Take It All Away and found it and the idea of a girl to be very good. In his opinion, Kelly Johnson was as good as any other guitarist he had seen in his life. End of December 1980 Motörhead's drummer injured Phil Taylor at the cervical spine and could not continue playing in the ongoing performances and recordings of the band, which is why Motörhead producer Vic Maile suggested a single with Girlschool, with whom he also worked to include. The result was the EP St. Valentine's Day Massacre , on which the bands duet a cover version of the song Please Don't Touch by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates . In addition, the bands covered each other, so Girlschool recorded the song Bomber by Motörhead and Motörhead "Emergency" by Girlschool. With Phil Taylor unavailable, girl school drummer Denise Dufort was the only one to play on all three songs.
