List of Motörhead songs
This is a list of the recorded and released songs by the British rock band Motörhead . The order of the titles is sorted alphabetically. It provides information about the author and on which sound carrier the composition can be found for the first time, and some of the titles contain notes on the origin of the composition. The list also includes cover versions of songs by other musicians that have been re-recorded and interpreted by Motörhead.
Overview
This list includes all the pieces that the band Motörhead has published and performed since their formation in 1975 until they split up in 2015 after the death of the band's founder and lead singer Lemmy Kilmister . The vast majority of all pieces can be found on the 22 studio albums Motörhead (1977) to Bad Magic (2015), and individual recordings of cover versions were also published posthumously on Under Cöver . Live recordings are only included in the list if Motörhead has not released a studio version of the songs recorded there. In addition, the songs interpreted by the band are listed, which they released exclusively or first on B-sides of their singles, maxisizingles , EPs , compilations , live albums or tribute albums . In some cases, individual tracks on an album have already appeared in advance as singles, in these cases they are assigned to the respective albums.
Most of the pieces were written by Lemmy Kilmister together with the current members of the band and recorded in recording sessions for the albums. Since the composition of the band changed several times, the authors of the pieces also changed over the years. In addition, there are individual cover versions of pieces by other artists that have been reinterpreted and recorded by Motörhead, often as tributes for these artists.
Explanations of the list
In the columns of the table, in addition to the title of the piece of music, the names of the authors and the title of the album (or alternative sound carrier) on which the band Motörhead published a version of the title for the first time, the duration of the title in minutes and seconds on the named Include album, year of first release, and notes on the title.
The author or authors of the respective title composed both the music (M) and wrote the lyrics (T) , unless otherwise stated. On the sound carriers and in most of the databases, the band Motörhead is usually given as the author, without listing the individual members of the band at the time. These are named individually in the table.
The table is sorted alphabetically by default according to the title of the piece of music. It can also be sorted in ascending or descending order according to the other columns by clicking the small arrows in the table header.
Cast of the band
The line-up of the band Motörhead changed several times over the active time, with Lemmy Kilmister being the only continuously active and permanent member. After his death, the band was split up by Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell. The following diagram shows the band composition from its inception to its dissolution.
