Status quo / discography

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Status Quo live in Lichtenvoorde, 2006

This discography is an overview of the musical works of the band Status Quo . With over 60 hit singles, they are one of the most successful bands in Great Britain . Various hits were also recorded in Germany and other countries. In addition, most of the now more than 30 albums have also made it into the charts . According to its own information, the band sold more than 118 million records worldwide.

Various chart entries were also recorded in other countries. Since the 1960s, Status Quo has had at least one top 20 hit in the UK and Germany in every decade. With the album Quid Pro Quo released in 2011, this also applies to the current decade.

Greatest hits

In view of the extensive discography and the worldwide success of the band, the listing of the chart positions does not claim to be complete. The question of the most successful hit cannot be answered conclusively either, since the worldwide sales figures of the individual recordings are mostly not known. According to the well-known certification figures, the most successful release is the 1991 best-of album Rocking All Over the Years with over 625,000 units sold. Measured by the chart positions of the singles, In the Army Now , What You're Proposing , Down Down and Pictures of Matchstick Men are among the international bestsellers .

Explanations for the compilation

For some years no singles from Status Quo have been published in Germany or other countries. (An exception was The Party Ain't Over Yet ). This may have led to a concentration of buyers in the UK market. For several years, Status Quo and their singles have been able to regularly reach the top 40 there.

The UK publication date is typically used in the list below.
