Stefan Quante

Stefan Quante (born June 19, 1959 in Bochum ) is a German journalist who mainly works on culinary and gastronomic topics.

biography

Quante studied German and social sciences at Bochum University and spent semesters abroad in Paris and Geneva. There he began to be interested in culinary topics.

After volunteering as an editor at the Westfalenpost , he switched to WDR in 1988 . For the first year and a half he moderated television entertainment for Zimmer Frei . Since then he has mainly worked as a reporter and moderator. Since 2001 he has been editor of the WDR reportage magazine Hier und Heute .

From 2003 onwards, the culinary programs Die Culinary Reportage and À la carte determine his main journalistic topic. Here, Quante mainly reports on top gastronomy in hotels and on ships, as well as on extraordinary cooking courses and wine tastings. He has been writing mainly culinary travel reports for the Berlin daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel since 2000.

Stefan Quante is married and lives in Heiligenhaus with his wife and one of his children .
