Stefano Bonomo (born January 25, 1993 in Hillsborough , California ) is an American - Italian soccer player who has been a striker since 2015 in the New York Red Bulls II , the farm team of the New York Red Bulls .
Career
Career start
Stefano Bonomo was born on January 25, 1993 to Paolo and Louise Bonomo in the small town of Hillsborough , between San Francisco and Palo Alto or San José , in the US state of California . Both his father and grandfather, through whom he also has Italian citizenship, were once professional skiers who belonged to the Italian national team. From 2002 he played for the local youth football club Burlingame Juventus from his hometown Burlingame , with which he won the national championship title in 2004. He was part of the team up to and including 2008 and also played for the Cal-North team in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) of the United States Youth Soccer Association from 2007 to 2008 . From 2008 he was also a member of the De Anza Force Soccer Club , which prepares players specifically for a later college career and has a 95 percent quota for future college players. Between the ages of nine and 14, he was trained mainly by his father Paolo. Transfer to the University of California, Berkeley
Like his maternal grandparents, Ben and Mayon Ichinose, Stefano Bonomo also joined the University of California, Berkeley , in 2011 , on a scholarship. There he started his freshman year only as a substitute player and made 14 championship appearances, of which he did not start in a single one or stood on the lawn for the full game and remained without a scorer point.
