location
The desert is about 2.5 km south of Kalchreuth on the edge of the Sebalder Reichswald , which borders in the west and south, and on the Gockerlersberger Graben, a right tributary of the Gründlach . To the north of the village there is a pit where slate is mined. A local road leads to Heroldsberg (1.5 km east).
history
Stettenberg was built around 1200 to 1300 as a clearing settlement in the Sebalder Reichswald . The place was first mentioned in a document in 1358 as "Stetenberg". This year the castle was given to the Burgraviate of Nuremberg by the Eichstätter Bishop . During the city war (1387-1389) the castle was burned down. In 1409 it was rebuilt by the Nuremberg citizen Otto Heiden.
In 1432 "Stettemberg" came to the imperial city of Nuremberg . From then on, Stettenberg was only an albeit stately farm with 120 acres of land, a manor house is no longer mentioned, it may have been demolished by the imperial city of Nuremberg. The place was in the Fraisch district of the Nuremberg main team Heroldsberg, was administered by the Forest Office Sebaldi and was free of parishes . Nothing in these conditions was to change until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1500 the castle was used as a farm, which included 120 daily fields.
As part of the community edict (early 19th century), Stettenberg was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Kalchreuth .
After the Second World War , numerous weekend houses were built west of Stettenberg.
