Stranger in Moscow is a song by Michael Jackson that is on his album HIStory . Despite its negative chart placement, critics and fans see it as one of Jackson's best songs.

Emergence

Jackson confirmed several times that he was already writing the title when the Dangerous World Tour stopped in Moscow shortly after he was charged with child molestation. The song shows Jackson’s autobiographical characteristics.

An early version of the title appeared in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 in 1994.

Music video

The black and white music video shows a city that is raining. Several special people are shown, including a woman in a cafe, a homeless person and Jackson himself. Moments are always shown in slow motion, e.g. B. a coffee cup falling over. The video was directed by Nick Brandt , it was shot in Los Angeles and is 5:35 minutes long.
