geography

Geographical location

Underline is located in a valley in the upper region of the deckle Bach valley between Irrenberg , Hundsrücken and Heselwangen .

Streichen has a district area of 274 hectares on the northern edge of the Swabian Alb .

history

Striche was first mentioned as Striche around 1130 . However, there are indications that this mention is unrelated to the current location. The current place and the no longer existing Niederhofen are likely to be younger settlements. In the 13th century there was possibly a castle ( Hinterwiesen Castle ) and a noble family. In the 14th century, the place belonged to the rule Schalksburg of the Counts of Zollern . In 1403 the Counts of Zollern sold the Schalksburg dominion to Württemberg, which also made Streichen a part of Württemberg. The place now belonged to the office and later to the Oberamt Balingen , which was part of the Kingdom of Württemberg from 1806 . In 1934 the Oberamt Balingen was renamed the Balingen district and in 1938 it became part of the Balingen district .

On January 1, 1971, strike was incorporated into the city of Balingen.

Stroichen now has 563 inhabitants and has an outdoor swimming pool.
