The ship was ordered from Aker Yards on December 15, 2005 together with the sister ship SuperSpeed 1 . The ship was laid down at the shipyard in Rauma on August 2, 2007 and undocked on January 18, 2008. On June 5, 2008 the ship was delivered to the client and christened on June 19, 2008. The ship began service between Hirtshals and Larvik on June 20, 2008, replacing Christian IV . The travel time on the route was reduced from 6 hours (day trip) to 11 hours (night trip) to 3 hours and 45 minutes. While the SuperSpeed 1 was being rebuilt in Finland between December 2010 and February 2011 , the ship operated the Larvik - Hirtshals - Kristiansand route .
In March 2014, the ship was Fayard shipyard with Wärtsilä - scrubbers equipped. Special scrubbers were used that take up very little space and thus did not require any major modifications to the ship.
Furnishing
The loading decks can be adjusted depending on the type and number of vehicles to be transported. With 89 trucks or buses there is still space for 284 cars, with 60 trucks there are 525 cars. If only trucks and buses are to be transported, there is space for 121 vehicles on 2030 lane meters or a maximum of 764 cars.
There is a large buffet restaurant on board with cold and warm dishes, which have to be paid for separately. There is also a café, a café bar and various shops. Passengers can stay in business or voyager class for a surcharge. There screens for TV and Internet are built into the backrests of the seating. There are 54 cabins available for truck drivers.
