Susann Müller (born May 26, 1988 in Saalfeld / Saale ) is a German handball player and trainer .
Career
In the club
Müller started playing handball at 1. SSV Saalfeld at the age of seven and moved to HC Leipzig in 2003 . At first she was active in the youth department of the HCL and was part of the Bundesliga team from the 2006/07 season. Müller threw over 60 goals in the Bundesliga in the first half of the season, whereupon her contract was prematurely extended to June 30, 2010 in November 2006. In four seasons for Leipzig she won a total of five national titles.
The left-hander played for the Danish first division club SK Aarhus from summer 2010 . The change was for private reasons; her partner Nina Müller , with whom she became a partner in 2016 , was playing for the Danish club Randers HK at the time . Müller was only granted the right to play in September 2010, which meant that they had to suspend their first league game. When SK Århus got into financial difficulties in 2011, Müller moved to Randers HK. In the 2011/12 season she won the championship with Randers and was the most successful goalscorer of her team with 124 goals. Müller ran in the following season for the Slovenian club RK Krim . In the summer of 2013 she returned to HC Leipzig. After playing for the top Hungarian club Győri ETO KC in the 2014/15 season, she has been under contract with the German club SG BBM Bietigheim since July 2015 . With Bietigheim she won the German championship in 2017. At Christmas 2017, she and Nina Müller were released from Bietigheim. In July 2018, their contract was terminated by mutual agreement. She then joined the Danish first division club Silkeborg-Voel KFUM . After Müller left Silkeborg after the 2018/19 season, she took over the coaching position from the second division Füchse Berlin in September 2019 .
In the national team
Müller was initially a member of the German youth and junior national team. With the junior selection, she won the U20 World Cup in 2008. In the final against Denmark she scored the most goals for the German team with seven goals.
The 1.86 m tall backcourt player was included in the expanded EM squad in 2006 by the then national coach Armin Emrich , but in the end she did not take part in the tournament. It was not until October 18, 2007 that Müller made her debut in the German national team in the game against Japan . Müller then took part in the 2007 World Cup in France, scored a total of two goals in six games and won the bronze medal with the DHB team. A year later, Müller decided not to take part in the 2008 European Championships , as she needed a break due to the great stress of previous years.
Müller was again in the squad of the German national team at the 2009 women's handball world championship in China . With the DHB selection she finished seventh and with 34 goals in nine games was the second most successful German shooter behind Franziska Mietzner . Your next tournament participation was the 2010 European Championship . At the 2011 World Cup and the Euro 2012 could not participate due to injury. With Germany she took part in the 2013 World Cup. Müller was the tournament's top scorer with 62 goals and was still elected to the Allstar team. Due to the consequences of a finger injury, Müller was only nominated before the second game of the 2014 European Championship . After the preliminary round match against Serbia, the competition for Müller was over again because the finger injury caused her problems again. For the preparations for the home world championship at the end of 2017, she was no longer considered by national coach Michael Biegler.
