Susanne Eigner (born October 1, 1979 in Bamberg ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

societies

Eigner began playing football at the local SC Stettfeld in Stettfeld , a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge , and was used as a striker in the F and E youth . At the age of eleven, she then moved to RSV Drosendorf from the town of the same name in the Bamberg district and went through all age groups until 1997. For the first team she was used in the then second-rate Regionalliga Süd in two seasons and failed in the promotion round to the Bundesliga in 1998 as third-placed behind promoted SC Freiburg and second-placed TSV Jahn Calden . For the 1999/2000 season she was signed by the league competitor FC Bayern Munich, with whom she was promoted to the Bundesliga after her premiere season and the successful promotion round . In this she played over 100 point games in four seasons, in which she scored over 20 goals. A cruciate ligament rupture forced her to stay away from the game after five years as a regular player; a contract extension did not materialize and the time in Munich came to an abrupt end. The new beginning at league rivals SC Freiburg lasted only six months, in which she played 10 point games and scored one goal from September 5 to December 19. The club's veto regarding the move to 1. FFC Frankfurt during the winter break meant the end of his career.

National team

Eigner belonged to the squad of the U-21 national team , which took part in the Nordic Cup tournament from July 28 to August 3, 2000 , which was held in their own country . After victories over the selections of Iceland (3: 1) and Denmark (6: 0), as well as the draw against the selection of Norway (2: 2) - alongside players like Sonja Fuss , Nia Künzer , Tanja Wörle , Martina Müller and Conny Pohlers - she and the team reached the final of the unofficial Junior World Championship against the selection of the United States, which was lost 1-0 in Weismain, Upper Franconia .
