Sven Meyer (figure skater)
Sven Meyer (born July 15, 1977 in Berlin ; † May 6, 1999 there ) was a German figure skater who started in a single run .
Sven Meyer started figure skating at the age of five. His trainer was Viola Striegler and his long-time choreographer was the former television ballet dancer Andreas Düpetell . Meyer started for TSC Berlin and belonged to the sports promotion group of the Berlin police .
Sven Meyer in 1998 in front of the favorite Andrejs Vlascenko surprisingly German figure skating champion of the men . He qualified for the European Championship and the World Championship . There he took 19th and 23rd place respectively. Meyer had already stood a quadruple toe loop and a quadruple salchow in training .
On 6 May 1999 Sven Meyer committed suicide .
