Switlana Krikontschuk ( Ukrainian Світлана Крікончук , Russian Светлана Крикончук / Swetlana Krikontschuk ; born December 21, 1984 in Zezenywka in Ternopil Oblast , then the Soviet Union ) is a Ukrainian summer biathlon .

Switlana Krikontschuk, who lives in Ternopil , started biathlon in 2002. She took part in the Junior World Championships in summer biathlon for the first time in 2003 in Forni Avoltri and won the gold medal in the pursuit race after silver behind Lyudmila Kalintschyk in the sprint. In the relay race, she finished second behind the Russian team with Tetjana Lytowtschenko and Ljudmyla Pyssarenko as the final runner. As 12th of the mass start, she achieved her worst result in this competition. A year later she achieved her best result in an individual race in Osrblie with second place in the mass start behind Tazzjana Schyntar . She finished tenth in the sprint and was able to improve to fourth in the pursuit, but just missed another medal. This won Krikontschuk with Pyssarenko and Walentyna Semerenko as the winner of the relay race. The most successful Junior World Championship was Krikontschuk 2005 in Muonio . In the sprint as well as in the pursuit and with Olena Pidhruschna and Wita Semerenko in the relay she won all titles. The Ukrainian only had to admit defeat to Nadseja Skardsina in the mass start .

Krikontschuk has been in the performance area since 2006. In Ufa she took part in the 2006 Summer Biathlon World Championships . In the sprint she ran to 16th place, tenth in the pursuit and fifth with the mixed relay. The following year in Otepää she won the silver medal behind Russia with Pyssarenko, Oleh Bereschnyj and Oleksandr Bilanenko in the mixed relay race. She narrowly missed another medal as fourth in the mass start, in the sprint she was 23rd. The 2007 Summer Biathlon European Championships in Tysovets went even better . In the sprint, Krikontschuk won the silver medal behind Natalja Solowjowa , in the mass start she relegated her to second place in the World Cup line-up as well as with the relay. Until then, the Ukrainian had only started in cross-country competitions, but since the 2009 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Oberhof she has also competed on roller skis . First she was in the cross-country competitions eighth in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit, then 41st in the roller ski sprint. At the Summer Biathlon European Championships 2010 in Osrblie, Krikontschuk was first sixth in the sprint and then won bronze in the pursuit and silver with Tetjana Tratschuk , Nasarij Buryk and Andrij Bohaj in the mixed relay competition. The Summer Biathlon European Championships 2011 in Martell brought a fifth place in the sprint, a sixth place in the pursuit and winning the silver medal in the mixed relay race with Ljudmyla Pyssarenko, Andrij Bohaj and Andrij Vosnjak .
