Frumoasa ( Hungarian Szépvíz or Csíkszépvíz [ ˈseːpviːz ]) is a municipality in the Harghita County , in the Transylvania region in Romania . The municipality is located in the Szeklerland and is almost entirely inhabited by Hungarian-speaking ethnic groups. It consists of four villages:

  • Bârzava ( Csíkborzsova )
  • Făgețel ( Bükkloka )
  • Frumoasa ( Szépvíz or Csíkszépvíz )
  • Nicolești ( Csíkszentmiklós )

history

The first written mention of the village Zepwyz took place in 1567, from 1602 the place was called Szépvíz ("beautiful water"). You were on the eastern border of the Kingdom of Hungary . With the Treaty of Trianon , the municipality was assigned to Romania in 1920.
