history

Tahiti has been a member of the world football association FIFA and the regional association OFC since 1990 . So far, the team has not yet managed to qualify for a soccer World Cup. However, they only took part in two women's soccer Oceania championships, the winner of which qualifies for the women's soccer world championship . Only sixth place was achieved in 2010 and the preliminary round was not made through in 2018. In 2007 the team was supposed to take part in an OFC championship, but the team was withdrawn as well as the associations of the Cook Islands , Fiji , New Caledonia , Samoa and Vanuatus .
