Tamas Giorgadze ( Georgian : თამაზ გიორგაძე, born November 9, 1947 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian , early Soviet , chess player .

Tamas Giorgadse won the student world championship with the Soviet team in 1968 and 1969 . At the 46th USSR Championship in Tbilisi, he finished 4th. In 1975 FIDE awarded him the title of International Master , then in 1977 the title of Grand Master . In 2004 he also received the title of FIDE Senior Trainer.

Giorgadse is listed as inactive at FIDE because he has not played a rated game since the Rr 29-BSCA Cup in Tbilisi in November 2002.
