Taylor Kitsch (born April 8, 1981 in Kelowna , British Columbia ) is a Canadian film and television actor .

life and career

In his youth, Taylor Kitsch first played ice hockey with the "Langley Hornets" in the BCHL . In 2002 he suffered a serious knee injury and had to end his sports career. He moved to New York and studied acting at IMG . During this time he also worked as a model a. a. for Abercrombie & Fitch and Diesel and also trained as a nutritionist and personal trainer.

From 2004 to 2006 he was under contract with Untitled Entertainment , an American film company . In 2007 he signed a contract with WME Agency.

He played the role of Tim Riggins on the Emmy- nominated NBC series Friday Night Lights from 2006 to 2011 , which was inspired by the 2004 film of the same name . For this role he was nominated for the Teen Choice Award in both 2007 and 2008 .

In February 2008, Kitsch signed for the role of the mutant Gambit in the comic book adaptation X-Men Origins: Wolverine . The offshoot of the X-Men trilogy (2000-2006) tells the prehistory of the X-Men Wolverine , played by Hugh Jackman . "

In 2009 he was hired by Steven Silver for his film The Bang Bang Club with Ryan Phillippe to play the role of Kevin Carter . The film premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival.

In January 2010, we started shooting for the film adaptation of the sci-fi - novel series Barsoom with Lynn Collins , a supporting actress of X-Men Origins: Wolverine .
