The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders , in the original The Amorous Adventures of Moll Flanders, is a British feature film from 1965 by director Terence Young with Kim Novak in the title role. The script was written by Denis Cannan and Roland Kibbee . They used the novel Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe , published in 1722, as a template . In the Federal Republic of Germany, the film was released on September 10, 1965.

Moll Flanders is a bright girl. After spending her childhood in orphanages, the now 17-year-old works as a housemaid for a respected major. He values her love service more than her housework. It doesn't take long before the major's older son falls in love with the new employee and seduces her. One day Moll is bathing naked in a nearby lake. She is watched by the muggers Jemmy and Squint. When the Molls want to take their clothes, the major's younger son appears and drives the crooks to flight. Thereupon Moll made nice eyes and after a few days the two were married. However, the marriage does not last long. The still freshly in love turns out to be an alcoholic. Completely drunk, he throws himself to death.
Moll found a new job as a maid with Lady Blystone. When she plans a longer trip, she sends the girl ahead with the luggage. In the stagecoach, Moll meets an older banker. Because Moll put on part of her mistress' jewelry, the banker considers her a lady of better society. Suddenly the carriage is attacked by the crook duo Jemmy and Squint. Jemmy looks familiar to Moll. Then he reads the name of the owner in the hat box: Lady Blystone.
On their raids, Jemmy and Squint have stolen all sorts of things, but still haven't found the wealth they long for. With the help of the pawnbroker Dutchy, Jemmy disguises himself as a captain in order to impress the supposed widow Blystone so that he can wrap her around his finger for the purpose of later marriage. When he waits for her, Moll is home alone. She skilfully slips into the role of the lady and lets herself be infatuated by Jemmy's words. It's love at first sight for both of them. They get along so well that each confesses his betrayal to the other. After that, they part amicably.
One day Moll Flanders is harassed quite violently by the Count, who wants to spend a nap with her . However, Lady Blystone returns earlier than planned and surprises her husband at his frivolous goings-on. Because he has become heavily in debt recently, she takes this as an opportunity to have him arrested and thrown into the debtor's office. The maid is given notice without notice. In desperation, she seeks out the banker, who soon takes her as his wife. On their wedding night, Moll has to watch her old friends Jemmy and Squint being followed by the police. Then she realizes that her heart beats only for Jemmy. She leaves her husband and henceforth earns a living with minor thefts. But one day this will be fatal for her. The police catch Moll, Jemmy and Squint red-handed. A court sentenced the three to death. On the day of the execution, a delegation from the magistrate, including the banker, appears. The blow hits him at the sight of his wife.
All of a sudden, Moll Flanders became a rich heiress. With her money, she bought Squint and Jemmy's pardon. The latter becomes her second husband. She emigrated with him to America to start a new life in the colonies there.
