Bob Dylan: Live 1964 - Concert at Philharmonic Hall is a live double CD released by Columbia Records in 2004 of a concert by Bob Dylan on October 31, 1964 at the Philharmonic Hall on Broadway .

The CD contains the entire concert, consisting of 19 songs (18 original compositions plus the traditional "Silver Dagger"), three of them together with Joan Baez , one sung by her alone.

Dylan is in a very good mood; he laughs a lot, communicates with the audience and cracks jokes. So does he announce Who Killed Davey Moore? with a lot of giggles with the words "This is a song about a boxer ... It is taken out of the newspapers. Nothing has been changed - except the words." And later he says, because it's Halloween night, "I have my Bob Dylan mask on." When he tries to sing "I Don't Believe You (She Acts Like We Never Met)", the lyrics can't be found at first - so he just asks the audience (who are happy to help out).

In retrospect, this concert heralds the first in a long series of style changes in Dylan's work. While his fan base reveres him as a spokesman for the protest generation, this involuntary role has long been a nuisance to him; his texts lose their daily relevance, he is now looking for his own individual artistic expression. A change is also heralded in the music, because for the last time a purely acoustic solo concert was heard here. Three months later, Dylan recorded his next studio album, Bringing It All Back Home , which was recorded with an electrical backing band and contains Dylan's first rock song, Subterranean Homesick Blues .
