The Last Ten Seconds of Life is an American deathcore band.

history

The Last Ten Seconds of Life was founded in 2010 in Meadville in the US state of Pennsylvania . The band consists of singer Storm Strope, guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin, bassist Anthony Madara and drummer Christian Fisher. Former musicians are bassist Thomas Giamanco and guitarist Casey Quick. When it was founded, all musicians were studying at Mansfield University .

After the two self-released EPs Justice in the founding year and Warpath (2012), as well as the debut album Know Your Exits , the group was signed by Density Records in mid-2013 . In 2013 the album Invivo [Exvivo] was released. This was followed by appearances as a backing band for Thy Art Is Murder , I Declare War , Fit for an Autopsy and Kublai Khan . In 2015, Soulless Hymns was the band's third studio album. Just over 1,000 records of the album were sold within the first week of sales. This was followed by a joint tour with Veil of Maya through the USA. On April 17th, 2015, the band played on the main stage of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester , alongside Sworn In , Vanna , The Color Morale and Motionless in White .

In 2015, the band toured as a backing band for Sepultura on the second leg of the "30 Anniversary Tour" in the United States and Canada . The tour ended after 17 concerts on June 14, 2015 in Grand Junction , Colorado . December 2015 saw the band with Fallujah and Within the Ruins as opening act for Carnifex for the first time in Europe.

In 2016, The Violent Sound was the fourth studio album to be released after switching the record company to Siege Music . The album features John Robert C., the former singer of bands like My Bitter End , Suffokate Ender and Painted In Exile as the new front man.

style

The music is described as a symbiosis of hardcore punk and dark, sluggish death metal , which is now known as deathcore . The group also uses the breakdowns typical of the music genre and completely dispenses with melodic elements in their music . On their second long player, however, the group also works with a few elements of Nu Metal . Among other things, the frequent use of breakdowns is criticized. The use of spoken word passages, on the other hand, is reminiscent of groups such as Korn , Slipknot and King 810 , but the sound on the third album Soulless Hymns is described as soulless.
