The Sleeping is an American rock band from Long Island , New York . It was founded in 2003 by Cameron Keym, Sal Mignanio and Joe Zizzo, who previously played in Skycamefalling . After these 22 potential singers had heard, Douglas Robinson, former singer and guitarist of the band Stillwelle , joined the group. The band's music was used as the soundtrack for the Wii version of Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam , Madden NFL 07 , Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock ("Don't Hold Back"), Guitar Hero: World Tour ("Bomb the World") ) and FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage ("Listen Close") are used.

Band history

Believe What We Tell You and Questions & Answers

The band released two albums, their first album Believe What We Tell You in 2004, and the second album Questions & Answers in 2006 . In 2004 and 2005 the group toured with Taking Back Sunday , Brandston, and Action Action . They also played with Plain White T’s , Relient K , Emery and Hawthorne Heights on the Nintendo Fusion Tour . During that time they also played on the British Victory Records tour with The Audition , Bayside and Aiden . In January 2007 they played with Senses Fail, among others . In the same year they were nominated at the MTV Mountain Dew Circuit Breakout and reached a top 12 place.

What It Takes

On August 6th, 2008 the band announced that after a six month search a new keyboardist / guitarist had been found to replace Cameron Keym. The newest members of the band were Paul Cadena and Christopher Evans.

Then The Sleeping played with Envy on the Coast, Secret Lives of the Freemasons some concerts on the east coast and in the midwest of the USA. The Gay Blades also took part in some performances . The tour ended in August. On October 15, they played in Eisenhower Park with Crosby, Stills & Nash and Ryan Star , Francis Dunnery , Barefoot Truth , Yaik Miller Band, Katy Pfaffl , Melissa Reyes, Jeff Robinson & Life, Arlon Bennett and others to Barack Obama to support.

On November 7, 2008, the band announced on MySpace that they would record another album. They toured the US with Funeral for a Friend , Emarosa and This Is Hell from January to February. On January 6, the What It Takes tracklist was released. The release followed on February 17th and the album debuted at number 20 on the Heatseekers charts and received good reviews. In April The Sleeping played in Ontario with the British deathcore / metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon .

They also announced shows with Silverstein , Poison the Well , Oceana , Hollywood Undead , Red Jumpsuit Apparatus , Mest and Madina Lake . They also played at the Canada Summer Festival with Hollywood Undead, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Sting .

Drummer Joe Zizzo played live with Envy On The Coast.
