The Trinity ( English for: " the Trinity ") is the third studio album by the Jamaican dancehall musician Sean Paul . It was released on September 27, 2005 on the labels VP Records and Atlantic Records . On June 19, 2006, it was re-released as a special edition including six bonus songs.

Jeremy Harding, Christopher Chin and Murray Elias served as executive producers on the album . A variety of different music producers were involved in the production of the instrumentals , including Donovan Bennett, Steven Marsden, Andre Saunders, Delano Thomas and Michael Jarrett.

Cover design

The album cover is done in dark tones and shows Sean Paul, who looks at the viewer seriously. The lettering Sean Paul in white and The Trinity in red are in the right part of the picture. The background is black.

Guest Posts

In addition to Sean Paul, other artists appear on four or six songs on the album. So is reggae singer Wayne Marshall on Yardie Bone represented, while the singer Tami Chynn a guest appearance in the play All on Me has. Change the Game is a collaboration with musicians Looga Man and Kid Kurup and the vocal duo Nina Sky can be heard on Connection . In addition, Sean Paul is supported on the bonus song Cry Baby Cry by Joss Stone and Carlos Santana , while the singer Rihanna has a guest contribution on Break It Off .

Chart successes and singles

The Trinity entered the German album charts at number 9 on October 10, 2005 and was ranked 14, 15 and 22 in the following weeks. Overall, it was able to stay in the top 100 for 33 weeks with interruptions. In the USA, the album reached number 7 in the charts and stayed in the top 200 for 52 weeks. The album also reached high chart positions in Austria, Switzerland and Great Britain.

Seven songs on the album were released as singles . Of these, the song Temperature was particularly successful, which took first place in the United States and received a double platinum record there . The first release We Be Burnin 'also reached high chart positions. Other singles were Ever Blazin ' , Cry Baby Cry , (When You Gonna) Give It Up to Me , Never Gonna be the Same and Break It Off .

The Trinity has sold over 100,000 copies in Germany and thus received a gold record . In the United States, the album was certified platinum for more than one million copies sold, while it was awarded a gold record in the UK and Switzerland. The album also received a platinum record for over a million units sold across Europe.

At the Grammy Awards in 2006 was The Trinity in the category Album Best Reggae nominated, but lost Welcome to Jamrock by Damian Marley .
