Theodor Karl Schwartz (born October 5, 1813 in Unna ( Königsborn ), † March 19, 1892 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Origin and family

Theodor Karl Schwartz was the son of a senior tax council and chief customs director. His mother was Therese, née Lohausen. He was not married.

Military career

Schwartz graduated from high school in Cologne before March 31, 1831 Fusilier in the 13th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian army entered. In the same year he was promoted to Portepeefähnrich and rose to secondary lieutenant in 1832 . From December 1841 to December 1845 he was adjutant in the 2nd Battalion of the 13th Landwehr Regiment. His promotion to Prime Lieutenant in 1848 was followed by the position of adjutant in the Landwehr regiments in Schleswig - Holstein, which were combined from the VII Army Corps . In 1860 he was commanded as a battalion leader of the 23rd Combined Infantry Regiment , where he became commander of the fusilier battalion that same year. In 1861 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in 1862 switched to the 50th Infantry Regiment as commander of the fusilier battalion . In 1865 Schwartz received the Order of the Crown III.
