Thilo Wydra

Thilo Wydra (born December 18, 1968 in Wiesbaden ) is a German author and journalist .

Career

Wydra studied comparative literature , German literature , art history and film studies at the universities in Mainz and Dijon . He has been working as a freelance author and journalist since the early 1990s.

Wydra has since the 1990s, including in the newspapers Der Tagesspiegel , Die Welt and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung published in the journal Filmecho / Film Week and online media such as Goethe.de and Zeit.de . He is the author of articles in film books, film dictionaries, festival catalogs and has published biographies that have been translated into other languages.

In 1996 he helped organize the first Volker Schlöndorff retrospective in Wiesbaden ; In 2003 and 2004 he was responsible for the retrospectives of the French Film Days Tübingen-Stuttgart .

From 2004 to 2011 Wydra was Germany correspondent for the Cannes International Film Festival .

He lives in Munich .
