Thilo from Bose
Thilo von Bose (completely Karl or Carl Georg Heinrich Thilo Wilhelm von Bose ; born January 12, 1880 in Zabern , † June 17, 1934 in Berlin ) was a Prussian officer and military historian .
Life
He was the son of the Prussian major general Georg Carl Dietrich von Bose (1842–1923) and his wife Anna Marie Friederike, née Enckhaus (1847–1907). His older brother Carl (Georg Thilo) Wilhelm (* 1877) was also an officer in the Prussian Army . There was a younger sister.
Bose attended elementary school in Rastatt , the Protestant school in Glatz and grammar schools in Marburg , Constance and graduated from high school in Groß-Glogau in 1899 .
He joined the Prussian army on March 15, 1899 as a flag junior with the Emperor Franz Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 2 in Berlin . In October of the same year he was promoted to ensign , in August of the following year to lieutenant . On October 21, 1907, he married Anna Luise Gertrud Körte (* 1887), with whom he had three children. As a first lieutenant , he attended the War Academy from October 1909 to July 1912 . From April 1913 he was employed in the staff of the Guard Corps and became a captain at the end of September of the same year . In the later course of the First World War he was employed in the staff of the 8th Army . In May 1918, Bose was promoted to major and retired with that rank from active military service.
After his discharge from military service, Bose wrote several volumes about the battles on the Western Front for the series battles of the world war , which was published on behalf of and with the assistance of the Reichsarchiv . The Kaiser Alexander Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1 in the World War 1914-1918 appeared on behalf of the Alexander Bund, river crossings in the World War at the instigation of the Reichswehr Ministry .
In the year of its last publication, Bose died in Berlin-Lichterfelde .
