Thomas Huber (actor)
Thomas Huber (born July 11, 1963 in Munich ) is a German actor and translator .
Life
After graduating from high school, Huber completed an acting training at the renowned Folkwang School in Essen-Werden . After his first engagements at the city theaters in Bremerhaven and Gießen , Huber played at the Mannheim National Theater from 1989 to 1993 . From 1993 he was part of the ensemble of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus for seven years . This was followed by engagements at well-known international theaters , such as the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt , the Stadttheater Bern or the Arcola Theater in London , where he played Wernher von Braun in Woman in the Moon . From 2005 Huber was seen at the Leipzig Theater . Since 2009 he has been part of the ensemble of the Schauspielhaus Frankfurt again.
Since the beginning of the 1990s, Huber has also been active as a film and television actor, who appeared in TV series such as Dieter Wedel's Der große Bellheim and Der Schattenmann or as a Bavarian organic farmer Boris Ecker in Hans W. Geißendörfers Lindenstrasse . In 2006 Huber played the cannibal victim Simon Grobeck in Martin Weisz ' Rohtenburg . Huber and his film partner Thomas Kretschmann won the Best Actor category at both the South Korean Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (2006) and the Sitges Festival Internacional de Cinema de Catalunya (2006) .
Huber also works as a translator; he has, among other things, translated Eric Bogosian's piece Notes from Underground into German. He also translated the musical Our House by Tim Firth from English into German.
