Thomas Schumacher (* 1983 in Tübingen ) is a German actor .

Life

Thomas Schumacher completed his acting studies from 2007 to 2011 at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig .

From 2009 to 2011 he was a member of the drama studio at the Dresden State Theater , where he a. a. the roles of Benvolio / Abraham in Simon Solberg's Romeo and Juliet production, Orwar in Juliet Hölscher's stage version by Astrid Lindgrens Die Brüder Löwenherz , directed by Tilmann Köhler who played Karl in Horváth's Italian Night and in Die Insel by Athol Fugard (director: Fabian Gerhardt ) appeared.

From the 2011/12 season until the end of the 2013/14 season he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where he a. a. worked with Jorinde Dröse , Jette Steckel and Stephan Kimmig .

In 2013 he took on the role of Mercutio in Solberg's Romeo and Juliet production at the Dresden State Theater. In 2014 he was a guest at the Berlin State Opera in the opera Simplicius Simplicissimus .

At the beginning of the 2016/17 season, Schumacher moved to the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. There he stepped u. a. as Oliver in As You Like It (Director: Jan Gehler ), as Temple Lord in Nathan the Wise (Director: Wolfgang Engel ) and as Dr. Feuermann / Dr Wenger in Professor Bernhardi (Director: Daniela Löffner ).

Since the 2018/19 season, Schumacher has been a permanent member of the acting ensemble of the Karlsruhe State Theater . So far he has played there a. a. the roles of Krogstad / Ejlert Lövborg in Anna Bergmann's Ibsen production Nora, Hedda and their sisters , Benedikt in Much Ado About Nothing (Director: Lily Sykes ) and Ernest in Bunbury (Director: Pinar Karabulut ). At the “Young Baden State Theater” he was seen as a teacher in Youth Without God . In Anne Habermehl's “gender swap ” production of Woyzeck by Georg Büchner , which premiered in the 2019/20 season, he played husband Mario at the side of Anna Gesa-Raija Lappe .

Schumacher also stood in front of the camera for several film and television productions, in which he a. a. directed by Maris Pfeiffer and Dustin Loose . In the 15th season of the ZDF crime series SOKO Leipzig (2016) he played the suspect and convicted Joshua Kammler. In the 11th season of the ZDF series Notruf Hafenkante (2017) he was seen as a suspect neo-Nazi Sascha Maslowski. He also had a continuous supporting role in the VOX series Rampensau (2019).

Schumacher lives in Karlsruhe .
