Thorsten Stuckmann (born March 17, 1981 in Gütersloh ) is a German football goalkeeper .

Career

Stuckmann learned the profession of electrician . His first stations as a professional footballer were Preußen Münster (2000–2003) and Eintracht Braunschweig (2003–2007).

In 2006 he was named " Lower Saxony's Footballer of the Year " by the NFV . In addition, in the seasons 2004/05 , 2005/06 and 2006/07 he was voted Braunschweiger Eintracht's darling in official polls.

In the 2007/08 season Thorsten Stuckmann moved to Alemannia Aachen . His debut was not particularly happy, as he was sent off with red on the last day of the first half of the first half of the match at TuS Koblenz after a foul on Fatmir Vata . Since the 20th match day of that season he was the goalkeeper of the Alemanni. On April 15, 2009 Thorsten Stuckmann announced that he had extended his contract with Alemannia Aachen until 2011. In the 2010/11 season , however, he was replaced as a goalkeeper by David Hohs and received no new contract at the end of the season.

At Preston North End Stuckmann signed in November 2011 after the injury of goalkeeper Iain Turner a contract that initially ran until the end of the month. After good performances and only five goals conceded in nine games, Stuckmann was offered a contract for eighteen months until June 2013, which he immediately signed. In June 2013 he joined the club for two more years. With North End Stuckmann reached the play-off games of Football League One in the 2014/15 season . In the final game of the playoffs, which was won 4-0 against Swindon Town at Wembley Stadium , Stuckmann sat on the bench. After he was a regular goalkeeper at the beginning of the 2014/15 season and played 16 times, he lost this place in the further course of the season to Sam Johnstone , who played 23 times, and Jamie Jones , who made 17 appearances. Under team manager Simon Grayson Stuckmann served as the Cup goalkeeper of Preston and reached with this the fifth main round of the FA Cup 2014/15 , in which the team lost to Manchester United .

In June 2015, Stuckmann signed a two-year deal with Doncaster Rovers in Football League One. With the Rovers, Stuckmann was relegated to the fourth division at the end of the 2015/16 season . Stuckmann played in 36 of 46 possible league games. After relegation, the contract was terminated.

In September 2016 he signed a contract until January 2017 with the Scottish first division club Partick Thistle . He made his debut for the club on October 26, 2016 against Dundee FC when he came on for the injured Ryan Scully . Most recently Stuckmann was under contract with Chesterfield FC in the English League Two . Then, after a short absence from a club, he was signed by the German club Fortuna Düsseldorf for the second team that plays in the Regionalliga West . Stuckmann's contract expired in June 2018.

Stuckmann has been a team supervisor at the Association of Contract Footballers since April 2020 . He also works as a co-commentator for Bundesliga games on English-language television.

Remarkable

Stuckmann is one of two representatives from the third division in the players 'council of the players' union, the Association of Contract Soccer Players (VdV).
