Tied & Tickled Trio
The Tied & Tickled Trio is a German music group. The musical style of the instrumental songs lies between jazz , electro-pop and dub .

The Tied & Tickled Trio occasionally plays with a changing line-up (among other things because the musicians are closely interwoven with the record label Hausmusik and the bands that are intertwined there). The central members of the group are the brothers Markus and Micha Acher, who with their band The Notwist have already gained fame not only within Germany.
By the way, tied and tickled means “tied up and tickled” and is a sex practice in BDSM .

history
When the band was founded in 1994, they consisted only of two drummers and a bassist; in addition there was the use of electronic instruments. The untitled debut album was created with the participation of other musicians and was released in 1998 and immediately impressed with its mixture of blue note jazz and electronic experiments. For the following album EA1 EA2 , the band went into the studio without finished compositions: the album was put together from the improvisations .
The album Electric Avenue Tapes was planned as a live recording from the Hamburg Westwerk on June 10, 2001, but had to be recorded the following day without an audience at the concert venue; only the song Constantinople is a concert recording. On the next album Observing Systems (2003) a total of 13 different musicians were involved with guests. The Tied & Tickled Trio received very good reviews from the music scene.
The following CD A.RC is based on a concert recording from Munich . In June 2007 the CD Aelita was released, followed in 2011 with La Place Demon, a collaboration album with drum legend Billy Hart.
In 2015 they were awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Music in the category of professional music-making.

Appearances on pop stages, the widely broken listening habits of the audience and an unconventional understanding of melodic, organic jazz mean that this mixture, as it is also played by Nils Petter Molvær , the Cinematic Orchestra or Frédéric Galliano, is suitable for the masses .
