Tiguipa (also: Tiguipa Estación ) is a town in the Tarija Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Tiguipa is the second largest town in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Villamontes in the Gran Chaco province . The village is located at an altitude of 541  m about 15 kilometers east of the Voranden chain of Serranía Aguaragüe , which runs from Boyuibe in the north via Villamontes to Yacuiba in the south and reaches heights of up to 800 m at Tiguipa. Tiguipa is surrounded by pastureland and arable land for a radius of 1 to 2 km, followed by extensive deciduous forests.

Sucre from the 976 km long leads highway Ruta 6 on Zudañez , Padilla , Monteagudo , Lagunillas and Camiri to Boyuibe north of Macharetí . Here the Ruta 6 crosses the 1,631-kilometer Ruta 9 from Guayaramerin on the Brazilian border via Santa Cruz to Yacuiba on the Argentine border. From Boyuibe it is 58 kilometers on Route 9 via Macharetí and Tiguipa (Chuquisaca) to Camatindi , where a dirt road branches off to the east and reaches Tiguipa after eight kilometers.

Tiguipa is the station on the railway line that runs from Santa Cruz in the north to Yacuiba on the Argentine border.
