On December 17, 2006, Jitloff contested his first World Cup race, the giant slalom on the Gran Risa in Alta Badia . At the 2007 World Championships he was 18th in giant slalom and 25th in slalom.

As the 20th of the giant slalom in Sölden on October 26, 2008, Jitloff started the 2008/09 season for the first time in the World Cup points. Almost four months later he surprised everyone with 5th place in the giant slalom in Sestriere . At the 2009 World Championships in Val-d'Isère , he finished 22nd in slalom and 26th in giant slalom. In the following 2009/10 season he was only able to classify himself just three times in the points. In the winter of 2010/11 , eighth place in the combination of Bansko was his best World Cup result. At the World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2011, he only started in the combination that he finished in 14th place. In the 2011/12 World Cup season a 10th place was recorded as the best results, in the following winter 2012/13 a 12th place (both times in giant slalom).

On December 22nd, 2013, Jitloff equalized his career best with 5th place in the giant slalom in Alta Badia. In the 2014/15 season he was twice ninth in Beaver Creek , first in December in the World Cup, then in February at the 2015 World Championships . Two more top 10 placements were added in the 2015/16 season . In the following two winters, he gradually lost touch with the world's best. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he was eliminated in the first run of the giant slalom. On March 14, 2018, Jitloff announced the end of his top-class sports career.
