Timothée Hal Chalamet (born December 27, 1995 in New York City , New York ) is an American - French actor .

life and career

Timothée Chalamet in 1995 in the New York district of Manhattan as a child of a French and an American born. He has US and French citizenship.

Chalamet grew up in Manhattan, attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York and has been an actor since he was 13. He subsequently made guest appearances in various American television series. In 2012 he starred in the spy series Homeland as Finn Walden , the son of the US Vice President. In 2014 he made his breakthrough in films. He played the role of young Tom , the son of the main character Cooper , in Christopher Nolan's science fiction film Interstellar .

In 2017 he appeared in films like Lady Bird and Call Me by Your Name . For his portrayals he received a lot of critical praise and was able to win prizes for the latter film, such as the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor. He is the youngest person since Mickey Rooney in 1940, who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor.

In 2018 he was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.

In 2019 the historical drama The King celebrated its premiere at the Venice International Film Festival . Chalamet takes on the leading role of the young King Henry V.

Chalamets current German voice actor is Marco Eßer .
