Too Late the Hero is a post-hardcore band from Berwick , Maine , formed in 2003 .

history

Too Late the Hero was founded in the summer of 2003 as a side project by five musicians who were friends. These are Jared Wilbur ( vocals ), Aaron Caple ( drums ), Nate Duckworth ( bass ) and Mike St. Hilaire ( guitar ). In 2004 the EP The Arming was released , a 6-track CD that was financed out of pocket. The band also did their first tour alone. In the same year the band gave their first concerts in New England and in the region.

In the spring of 2005 St. Hilaire left the band and was replaced by Nate Johnson. Johnson already played with the band In The Arms Of Providence .

In 2007 her debut album Is This Thing On? . It was released on March 6, 2007. This album was also financed out of pocket.

Another EP followed in June 2009 with The Revenge . In addition to this, a DVD was released containing a complete concert, band photos, biographies of the musicians and various other videos. Like the two previous albums , The Revenge was released as an in-house production. Josh Wilbur , who previously worked with Lamb of God , Atreyu and Haste the Day , produced all three albums .

In August 2010, the band gave a concert outside the United States for the first time. The band played in Mexico . The band currently consists of Jared Wilbur (vocals), Nate Duckworth (bass), Aaron Caple (drums), Jack Stolz (guitar) and Kevin Billingslea (guitar). Nate Johnson and Tim Mueller, who were guitarists in the meantime, had left the band.

The band has already given several concerts, toured and also participated in several festivals where they took the stage with acts like Panic! at the Disco , Anti-Flag , Dropping Daylight , Boysetsfire , People In Planes , Chiodos , Damone , Augustana , Name Taken , Bayside , As Tall as Lions , The Receiving End of Sirens , Folly , Downtown Singapore , A Day to Remember , In Fear And Faith , A Skylit Drive , I See Stars , Attack Attack! , Dance Gavin Dance and Outsmarting Simon shared.

The band is now signed to The End Records and ReThink Records , which was founded in 2011 by Chris Adler , the drummer for Lamb of God . Their second studio album, Statement of Purpose , was released on April 12, 2011. The group toured the US and Canada with Memphis May Fire and This Romantic Tragedy . This tour started with an appearance at the 3-day New England Metal and Hardcore Festival , where the band played along with MyChildren MyBride , Arsonists Get All the Girls and This or the Apocalypse on April 14, 2011 . In June Too Late the Hero played with Vanna , Our Last Night and Texas in July .

Songs from all three of the band's albums can be heard on the airplay of various radio stations in Maine and New Hampshire .

On kickstarter.com the band published a request for help to the fans in support of the bandvan. Depending on the amount of the donation, the group sends each donor a surprise package.
