Touch (German: contact ) is an American Mystery - television series , which from Heroes -creator Tim Kring developed by 20th Century Fox Television , a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox , the US channel Fox was produced. It's about Martin Bohm, whose autistic son Jake apparently can predict the future. The pilot episode premiered on Fox on January 25, 2012. The regular broadcast began on March 22, 2012. The German-language first broadcast of the pilot episode took place on February 27, 2012 on the German free-to-air television station ProSieben , as well as on the Austrian broadcaster ORF eins .

action

The newspaper reporter Martin Bohm was once successful until his wife was killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 in one of the towers of the World Trade Center . Since then, his job has been to take care of his autistic son Jake. Martin not only fails to communicate with his son, but is also overwhelmed with his behavioral problems. The youth protection authority will soon be switched on. Clea Hopkins thinks it would be best if Jake came to a home. Martin sees it differently, because he noticed that his son ran away from school three times in a row at the same time to climb a transmission tower . He realizes that Jake can predict the future. He receives support from Arthur Teller, an expert on children with unusual talents.

Martin Bohm
Martin is a former journalist and now a porter. He lost his wife in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and now has to look after his autistic son Jake on his own.
Jacob "Jake" Bohm

Professor Arthur Teller
Arthur is an expert on children who have a special gift for numbers. He supports Martin.
Clea Hopkins
Clea is a social worker who has to convince herself of the Bohms' living conditions.
Amelia Robbins

production

The broadcaster Fox announced a new series from the Heroes creator Tim Kring with Kiefer Sutherland in one of the leading roles in the summer of 2011 . In addition to Sutherland, the young actor David Mazouz was cast as Jake - the autistic son of Sutherland's role - and Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Clea Hopkins' social worker. In October 2011, the Fox broadcaster gave the green light for the series and initially ordered thirteen episodes.

The first official trailer for the series was released just a few days later. Furthermore, Roxana Brusso was cast for a recurring role.

In the course of further program decisions, Fox announced the extension of the series by a second season in May 2012, although the number of episodes ordered was not mentioned. For the second season, Maria Bello was included in the main cast. On August 2, 2012 it was announced that Lukas Haas had received a leading role in the second season. Furthermore, Gugu Mbatha-Raw is no longer part of the regular cast. In mid-August, Saïd Taghmaoui joined the series as the new lead actor. In May 2013, it was announced that Fox would end the series after the second season.

Cast and dubbing

The German synchronization is created for a dialogue book by Martin Kessler and the dialogue director of Ralph Beckmann by the synchronous company Arena synchronous in Berlin .

Charisma

United States

After Touch was officially ordered as a series in October 2011, the station announced a launch date in spring 2012. The pilot episode was finally shown on January 25, 2012 as a preview right after an edition of the American Idol music show . It was seen by a total of just over 12 million Americans and thus achieved a rating of 3.9 in the advertising-relevant target group . The official start of the series was March 22, 2012. For the finale of the first season on May 31, 2012, two episodes were shown in a row. On September 14, 2012, the previously omitted thirteenth episode of the first season was shown. The broadcast of the second season was originally supposed to take place from October 26, 2012 and then from January 2013, but was then postponed to February 8, 2013. The second season finale, which is also the series finale, was shown on May 10, 2013.

Germany

In Germany, ProSiebenSat.1 Media had secured the broadcasting rights and decided to broadcast them on the ProSieben station . The pilot episode was shown on February 27, 2012 - as a preview of the premiere of the Terra Nova series, which is also based on the US broadcaster Fox . The remaining episodes have been running every Monday at 9:10 p.m. since March 26, 2012. On May 9, 2012, ProSieben announced that the series would no longer be shown in prime time due to low ratings and that the remaining episodes would be broadcast on the station's night program. An average of 1.05 million people watched the first season. The target group reached 0.74 million viewers. On December 19, 2015, the last episode of season 1 was shown, and then the second season began on the pay-TV channel ProSieben Fun in German-language first broadcast.

Austria

In Austria, ORF eins showed the first episode together with ProSieben on February 27, 2012 as a preview. From March 26, 2012, the series was broadcast as a German-language first broadcast on ORF eins.
