Tour de France for automobiles 1981

The 1981 Tour de France for automobiles was held as a stage race for automobiles from September 13th to 20th in France .

With the Tour Auto 1981, the French sports newspaper L'Équipe took over the organization of the race. From 1981 the race was part of the French rally championship as well as the European rally championship. Jean-Claude Andruet won the tour in a Ferrari 308 . It was the first Ferrari victory at this event since 1972 .
