The Tournament of Nations 2017 was a tournament for women's national football teams and took place between July 27 and August 3, 2017 in the USA . It is the second four-nation tournament of the year in the USA after the SheBelieves Cup 2017 . While this took place in March in stadiums on the east coast, the games of this tournament took place on the west coast. Participants were world champions and hosts USA, Asian champions and vice world champions Japan, South American champions Brazil and vice Asian champions Australia. The tournament took place at the same time as the knockout round of the 2017 European Championships and was the second highest-attended invitation tournament of the year. In June 2017, the four teams were ranked 1, 6, 7 and 8 in the FIFA world rankings (4.).

The venues were CenturyLink Field in Seattle , Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego and the StubHub Center in Carson . Of these, the first stadium has artificial turf, the other two have natural turf.

FIFA classifies the matches as friendly matches, so that each team could make up to six substitutions per match. The winner of the tournament was the team with the most points. In the event of a tie, first the goal difference from all games, then the total goals scored, then the direct comparison and finally the FIFA ranking decided the placement, whereby the last three criteria did not have to be used.
