Uhorské (until 1927 Slovak "Uhorsko"; Hungarian Ipolymagyari - until 1907 Uhorszka ) is a municipality in the southern central Slovakia of Slovakia with 516 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) and belongs to Okres Poltár , a circle of kraj Banskobystrický .
geography
The municipality is located on the southern edge of the Slovak Ore Mountains and at the same time on the western edge of its subunit Revúcka vrchovina , in the valley of the Uhorštiansky potok in the catchment area of the Ipeľ . The center of the village is at an altitude of 279 m nm and is eight kilometers from Poltár .
Neighboring municipalities are Krná in the north, České Brezovo in the east, Poltár in the south-east and south, Rovňany in the south-west and Poltár in the west and north-west.
history
The place was probably built as early as the 13th century, but was first mentioned in writing as Uhurska in 1435 and belonged to the dominion of the Fiľakovo Castle , from the 17th century the village was owned by the landed gentry. In 1828 there were 94 houses and 841 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and cattle herders, and since the 19th century they have also been working in the surrounding industrial plants.
Until 1918/1919 the place in Neograd County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Uhorské had 564 inhabitants, including 527 Slovaks , four Roma and two Magyars . 31 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
282 inhabitants supported the Roman Catholic Church, 166 inhabitants supported the Evangelical Church AB and one inhabitant supported the Baptists. 77 residents had no denomination and 38 residents had no denomination.
