Ozdín (Hungarian Ozdín ) is a municipality in the southern central Slovakia of Slovakia with 290 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) and belongs to Okres Poltár , a circle of kraj Banskobystrický .

geography

The municipality is located in the western part of the Slovak Ore Mountains , in a valley basin surrounded by mountains on three sides. East at the site over the flows Ipeľ in its upper reaches, the stream of here Ozdínsky Potok receives. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 286  m nm and is 12 kilometers from Poltár and 25 kilometers from Lučenec .

To the municipality since 1973, the site located south-east part Bystrička (Hungarian Ipolybeszterce - until 1907 Bisztricska ).

Neighboring municipalities are Málinec in the north, Hradište in the east, Rovňany in the southeast, Mládzovo in the south and Cinobaňa in the southwest and west.

history

Protestant church

In the Late Bronze Age there was a settlement above the present-day location and a fortification of the Kyjatice culture . Not far from there, the Ozdín Castle was built in the Middle Ages and was first mentioned in 1275. In terms of design, it was a moth and belonged to the Turics family . In 1454 the castle was mentioned as Castrum Osdyn , the place below as Uzdín . The castle complex was supposed to be demolished according to Corvinus' decree of 1464, but the exact fate is uncertain. Today only the name of the hill Hrad reminds of the former castle.

Landlords in modern times were Ferenc Bebek, castellan of the Castle Fileck (1548–1554), János Balassa (1554), Miklós Orly (1598) and the families Koháry (1688) and Szentiványi (1770). In 1828 there were 51 houses and 461 inhabitants in the village.

Until 1918, the place in Neograd County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 373 residents in Ozdín, including 328 Slovaks, three Magyars and one Roma and one Czech. 40 residents gave no information in this regard. 164 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, 115 residents to the Evangelical Church AB, five residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident each to the Seventh-day Adventists and the Czechoslovak-Hussite Church. 45 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 42 residents was not determined.
