Ulrich Beck (dramaturge)

Ulrich Beck (* 1981 in Stuttgart ) is a German dramaturge and artistic director.

Live and act

Ulrich Beck studied from 2005 to 2009 dramaturgy at the Academy of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig after the first theater practical experience in acting Stuttgart State Theater (artistic director Friedrich Schirmer ) at Henning Bock , Martin Kušej , Sebastian Nübling and Hasko Weber had made .

During his studies, dramaturgy assistance at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin , at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and at the Burgtheater Vienna as well as dramaturgy for Alexander Riemenschneider's dramatization of the Kafka story In the Penal Colony at the Thalia Theater Hamburg in Gaußstrasse (in cooperation with the Theater Academy).

Together with Petra Stuber, editor of the second volume of the university publication of the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig with the title "Theater and 19th Century" as well as publication in the cultural magazine Ästhetik und Kommunikation on the subject of legal awareness.

Together with Peter Schwarz and Kerstin Holm, he curated the Ukrainian theater festival ¡Alles anders? (organized by MitOst eV).

Until the 2018/19 season he worked as a dramaturge at the Deutsches Theater Berlin.

For the 2019/20 season he will move to the Schauspiel Hannover as Artistic Operations Director (Artistic Director Sonja Anders ).
