Our Man in Rio is a 1966 Italian comedy film directed by Henry Levin. The film mainly parodies the James Bond films . The film opened in German cinemas on November 25, 1966.

The Brazilian industrialist Mr. Ardonian longs for world domination. He plans to launch a rocket into space, the rays of which make every man sterile. Then he would like to repopulate the earth with beautiful women whom he has previously kidnapped. CIA agent Kelly and his British colleague Susan try to thwart the plan. They get help from Susan's chauffeur, who drives a Rolls-Royce full of gadgets.

Our man in Rio was filmed on location in Rio de Janeiro and Rome between January and March 1966 . Originally the title was supposed to be Operation Paradise , but ultimately the title If All the Women in the World was chosen in most English-speaking countries . In the US , the film was released under the title Kiss the Girls and Make Them Die .
The original plan was to release the film shortly before or with You Only Live twice . However, when the James Bond satire Casino Royale was announced, producer De Laurentiis rushed to avoid having to compete with two Bond films at the box office. Ultimately, Our Man in Rio was published at the end of 1966. However, problems in distribution delayed the publication in the USA until 1967.
Mike Connors claims he was awarded the role of Kelly after previously auditioning for the role of Matt Helm in the series of films of the same name. In addition, Connors stated that he performed the stunts himself, in which his character hung from a ladder attached to a helicopter.
Trivia
- The plot of the film is similar to that of the James Bond film Moonraker , which appeared 13 years later.
- Director Henry Levin also directed two films in the Matt Helm film series. Here he oversees the direction taken over by Dino Maiuri.
