The name Blombach is derived from the Blombach which rises in the village and whose name means Blumbach , Blumenbach .

Blombach is first mentioned in a document in 1502. As early as 1710, five houses in Blombach are mentioned.

On the Topographia Ducatus Montani by Erich Philipp Ploennies from 1715, the farm is listed as Blumbec . On the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 a place is recorded as Blumbach and on the Prussian first survey of 1843 a distinction is made between the residential areas Obere and Untere Blombach.

In 1832 Blombach was the titular place of the Blombacher Rotte in the rural outskirts of the city of Ronsdorf . The place, which was categorized as a village according to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district , had 15 residential houses and 14 agricultural buildings at that time. At that time, 125 residents lived in the place, 22 Catholic and 103 Protestant faith. In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province from 1888, 16 houses with 153 inhabitants are given.

traffic

The Wuppertal-Oberbarmen – Solingen railway runs through Blombach without a railway station. A regular public bus with two stops provides the connection with the center of Ronsdorf. It is planned that today on the Blombachtalbrücke leading national road 419 in the course of the motorway-like expansion runs along the edge of Blombach and a direct connection to the motorway one gets. Thus the motorway ring around Wuppertal would be completed.

economy

In Blombach there is a poultry farm and a handicraft business in the sanitary industry . The last restaurant , the "Blombach House", was closed at the beginning of the 20th century. Even if the hamlet is surrounded by meadows and pastures due to its rural location, agriculture no longer plays a role in the main occupation today.
