Vanves is a French commune with 27,729 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is one of the south-western suburbs of Paris , 5.6 kilometers from Paris city center. Vanves is one of the most densely populated communities in Europe.
history
On January 1, 1860, the city of Paris was enlarged by incorporating the surrounding communities. Because of this, the municipality of Vanves lost about a third of its area to Paris.
On November 8, 1883, about half of the area of Vanves was assigned to the newly created parish of Malakoff .

Vanves is located on the Paris metro line 13 . The Malakoff-Plateau de Vanves station is on the city limits between Malakoff and Vanves, at Porte de Vanves you can change to line 3 of the Paris tram . Vanves is also on the Paris Montparnasse Transilien lines .

Vanves has twinned cities with the cities of Lehrte in Germany (since 1963), Ballymoney in Northern Ireland and Rosh HaAjin in Israel.
