Vanves is a French commune with 27,729 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is one of the south-western suburbs of Paris , 5.6 kilometers from Paris city center. Vanves is one of the most densely populated communities in Europe.

history

On January 1, 1860, the city of Paris was enlarged by incorporating the surrounding communities. Because of this, the municipality of Vanves lost about a third of its area to Paris.

On November 8, 1883, about half of the area of ​​Vanves was assigned to the newly created parish of Malakoff .
