Vestec (German Westetz ) is a district of the city of Chrudim in the Czech Republic (Eastern Bohemia). The place is two kilometers northeast of Chrudim,
geography
Vestec is on the left side of the Chrudimka in the Chrudimská tabule ( Chrudimer Tafelland ). Silnice I / 37 runs at the southern exit of the village . The Heřmanův Městec – Borohrádek railway runs through the Chrudimka Valley east of Vestec .
Neighboring towns are Ostřešany in the north, Ostřešánky and Tuněchody in the northeast, Habrov, Kalousov and Vejvanovice in the east, Topol and Kočí in the southeast, Májov and Chrudim II in the south, Chrudim I and Chrudim IV in the southwest, Třibřichy in the west and Medlešice and Mikulovice in the northwest .
history
The first Christian mention of the place was in 1399 as a stonemason village . Vestec has belonged to the royal city of Chrudim since early modern times .
In 1835 Westetz consisted of 16 houses and 88 inhabitants. The parish was Chrudim.
After the abolition of patrimonial Vestec formed a district of the municipality Tuněchody in the judicial district of Chrudim, Chrudim district . From 1868 the village belonged to the Chrudim district . In 1869 Vestec had 110 inhabitants. In 1900 there were 143 people living in the village, ten years later there were 172. After the First World War, Vestec broke away from Tuněchody and formed its own municipality. In 1930 Vestec had 169 inhabitants. Vestec was incorporated into Chrudim in 1961. On March 3, 1991, the town had 154 inhabitants; at the 2001 census, 144 people lived in Vestec's 24 houses.

Attractions
- Pilgrimage chapel on the southwestern outskirts, built around 1741. In 2016, restoration work began.
