Chrudim IV , formerly Jánské Předměstí (German Johannesvorstadt ) is a district of the city of Chrudim in the Czech Republic . It is located north of the city center of Chrudim and belongs to the Okres Chrudim .

geography

Chrudim IV extends to the left of the Chrudimka on the Heřmanoměstecká tabule ( Hermannstädtler Tafel ); the easternmost part is formed by the Pumberky ( Baumberg , 300 m nm) rising to the right of the Chrudimka valley . State road I / 17 between Heřmanův Městec and Hrochův Týnec and state road II / 324 between Pardubice and Chrudim run through Chrudim IV . In the north and east, the district is largely bypassed by the state road I / 37 between Pardubice and Slatiňany . The cross between the Havlíčkův Brod – Pardubice ( Chrudim zastávka stop ) and Heřmanův Městec – Borohrádek ( Chrudim město station ) lines is located on the northern edge of the village .

Neighboring towns are Medlešice , Mikulovice , Ostřešany and Vestec in the north, Tuněchody and Kalousov in the northeast, Topol in the east, Kočí and Chrudim II in the southeast, Chrudim I and Chrudim III in the south, Vrcha and Kozojedy in the southwest, Lány and Markovice in the west and Třibřichy , Na Hrázi and Dřenice in the north-west.

history

During the Neolithic Age, there was a fortified settlement on the Pumberky .

After the city of Chrudim was founded, a small suburban settlement developed below the city walls on the Chrudimka. In the 14th century, a hospital was founded in front of the Lower City Gate on the bridge over the river, to which a small, St. Johannes von Nepomuk church with the hospital cemetery. The church did not have its own priests and was looked after by the clergy from the Church of the Assumption. The Chrudimer dean Johann Wenzel Petzold had the church of St. John rebuilt in the second half of the 17th century at his own expense. In the course of the Josephine reforms in 1788 the Church of St. John of Nepomuk repealed and sold the church building. At the end of the 19th century, the Johannes suburb began to expand. The former church was converted into a theater, which opened in 1801. From 1814 the church building served as a prayer house and from the 1830s again as a theater.

In 1835 the Johannis suburb consisted of 157 houses with 1257 inhabitants. After the abolition of patrimonial formed Janova Čtvrť / John's suburbs in 1849 a quarter of the district town of Chrudim. The church building was also destroyed in the great fire of August 6, 1850, and a new theater was built in its place in 1854. From 1868 the district belonged to the new district Chrudim . In 1869 Janova Čtvrt had 2951 inhabitants. With the completion of the Heřmanův Městec – Borohrádek railway in 1899, the second Chrudim station was opened north of the suburb with the Chrudim Stadt station. In 1900, 4,357 people lived in the suburb, ten years later there were 4,320. In 1929 the theater was demolished, and between 1931 and 1934 the Karel-Pippich-Theater was built elsewhere. In 1930 Janská Čtvrt had 4,792 inhabitants.

In the second half of the 20th century, the suburb experienced a strong expansion to the west. As part of the restructuring of the city of Chrudim, the district Chrudim IV was created in March 1980 from the suburb of Jánské Předměstí and the newly incorporated village of Markovice. In 2001, 9,358 people lived in the 1022 houses of Chrudim IV.

Local division

The district Chrudim IV consists of the basic development units Chrudim-sever, Janské Předměstí, Májov ( Majow ) Markovice ( Markowitz ), Markovice-východ, lány Medlešické, Na Skřivánku, Na Větrníku, Pod Skřivánkem, Podměstí ( lower city ), Průmyslová zóna Chrudim, Stromovka, Topol and V Hliníkách. Chrudim IV also includes the Na Pumberkách, Na Šancích and sídliště Leguma residential areas.

Chrudim IV is part of the Chrudim and Topol cadastral districts , the border of which is the Chrudimka.

Sights and culture

  • Neuperský dvůr, also called Kuchyňkovský vila or Wiesnerova vila; the farm has been documented since 1599, the first known owner was from 1600 Samuel Kuchynka, after that the farm belonged to a. a. Mr. Neuperger von Neuperk, Countess Millesimo on Mezilesice and from 1797 again the Kuchynka family. After the industrialist František Wiesner had acquired the farm in 1871, he let it through František Schmoranz the Elder in 1879. J. convert to its present form.
