history

The place was first mentioned in 1244 when Dobrohost von Vlčnov testified that the villages of Hostivice and Blatnice were donated by Jan, the son of Zbyslav, to the Premonstratensian monastery in Litomyšl . The village was the seat of the Lords of Vlčnov, who held the property until the middle of the 15th century. Ctibor von Vlčnov was indicted in 1319 together with Přibík von Zaječice, Ctibor von Přestavlky and Konrád von Nasavrky before the regional court for robbery. In 1407 Petr von Vlčnov bought the farm of Jan Lidéř from Mikulovice. Two years later, Václav von Vlčnov bought the farm, including the former festivals, from Jiřík Rožnovský from Chrudim. Václav Vaněk and of Vlčnov occurred in 1440 in Čáslav the Country Fried at. Kateřina Dřelská left in 1514 the royal city of Chrudim to build a hospital in addition to her income from the villages of Dřenice and Ostřešany also a share of Vlčnov. Around 1530 Jan Holec from Nemošice sold his farm in Vlčnov with the tavern and the new farm with the grinding shop on Chrudimka to the town. The city thus owned most of Vlčnov with the exception of a free courtyard.

Because of the participation of the city of Chrudim in the uprising against the Habsburgs, King Ferdinand I confiscated their property in 1547. To maintain the poor, including the hospital, Ferdinand I transferred the villages of Kočí and Vlčnov to the hospital. In 1561 the other Chrudim villages placed under Vlčnov rule were sold off. After the Battle of White Mountain , the Chrudim villages were again confiscated by the Bohemian King Ferdinand II , because the city of Chrudim had supported the class uprising of 1618 ; in 1628 the town got its possessions back. The village of Vlčnov at that time consisted of 6 properties. In 1655, in a dispute with the town of Chrudim, the subjects from Kočí and Vlčnov managed to have the taxes waived for them for the years 1620 to 1654. In 1662 the residents of Kočí and Vlčnov filed a complaint against the city of Chrudim with the Archdiocese of Prague and wanted to prove that they were not subjects of the city, but of Chrudim Hospital. From 1669 the villages Kočí and Vlčnov refused to provide increased robotic services, as a punishment the city had two corporals with 20 dragoons billeted in both places from February to May 1671 and the residents maintain their horses. On October 6, 1671, the resistance of both villages was broken and their inhabitants were forced to accept excessive robot obligations. A little later, both villages filed a complaint against the emperor and the Prague consistory. In 1673 the ringleaders, judges Jan Budínský and Samuel Borovec from Vlčnov , were captured and brought to Prague. In 1674, while in custody, they pledged obedience and submission to city officials.

The Vlčnovský family from Vrbice had owned the farm since the second half of the 16th century. From 1615 the farm belonged to Jan Václav Talácko von Ještětice with a subject. After further changes of ownership, the owner of the Zaječice estate , Lambert Hřebenáč von Harrach , acquired the Freihof in 1683 . He left the Zaječice estate with the Freihof Vlčnov in 1696 to Augustin Norbert Woracziczky von Pabienitz , who sold it to Joseph Franz Graf von Schönfeld in January 1697 for 62,000 Rhenish guilders . Count Schönfeld added the Zaječice estate with the Vlčnov farm in 1701 to the Nassaberg lordship . The farm was later leased.

In 1719, Joseph Franz von Schönfeld negotiated with the town of Chrudim about an exchange of his farm and mill in Chrudim for the village of Vlčnov, alternatively he was also prepared to buy the village; However, since Schönfeld only wanted to pay 10,000 guilders for it, the negotiations failed.

There were inns in both the Chrudimer and Nassaberg parts. The inn in the urban part was in a dilapidated condition. After the city of Chrudim forbade its subjects to visit the tavern in Nassaberger Teil in 1733, Count Schönfeld forbade his farmers to bring firewood into the city in winter. A little later, the differences were settled. After a forge was built in the urban area around 1784, the Nassaberg rule protested against it. In February 1785 the city granted the concession to operate the forge, as there was no legal basis for preventing the Nassaberg office. In 1789 there were 25 houses in the village.

In 1835 the village Wltschnow or Wlčnow , located in the Chrudim district , consisted of 31 houses with 167 inhabitants. Three of the houses, including a leased Meierhof, belonged to the Nassaberg estate . The parish was Chrudim. Until the mid-19th century was Wltschnow the royal circle and dowry town Chrudim servants.

After the abolition of patrimonial Vlčnov formed a municipality in the judicial district of Chrudim. From 1868 the village belonged to the Chrudim district . In 1869 Vlčnov had 160 inhabitants. In 1900 there were 203 people living in the village, ten years later there were 249. In 1930 Vlčnov had 278 inhabitants. In 1961 there were 166 people in the village. In 1964 it was incorporated into Orel ; Since the beginning of 1981 Vlčnov is a district of Chrudim.
