Vinosady is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1416 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) not far from the capital Bratislava .
The place is about 2 kilometers northeast of the city of Pezinok at the foot of the Little Carpathians . It was founded in 1964 through the merger of the places Veľké Tŕnie and Malé Tŕnie, the name literally means "vineyards" in German and refers to the numerous vineyards in and around the place.
The place Malé Tŕnie (German Terling , Hungarian Terlény ) was mentioned for the first time in 1208 and was called Trlinok until 1948 . Veľké Tŕnie ( Zuckersdorf , Hungarian Csukárd ) is located southwest of the town center , until 1948 the place was called Kučišdorf .
