Vojnik (Eng .: Hochenegg) is a municipality in the Spodnja Štajerska region ( Lower Styria ) in Slovenia .

8,368 people live in the entire community . The main town has 1,986 inhabitants and is located north of the city of Celje .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1165 as Hoheneke . In 1900 the market town of Hochenegg had 835 inhabitants. Of these, 454 were Germans and 371 Slovenes.
