The 1999/2000 season was the fourth regular season of the Western Professional Hockey League . The 18 teams were supposed to play 72 games each in the regular season , but the schedule had to be changed due to the early financial departure of the Abilene Aviators and Waco Wizards . The team with the highest points in the regular season was the Central Texas Stampede , while the Shreveport Mudbugs won the President's Cup for the second time in the play-offs .
